Palace
Palace Skateboards at Skatestore
Palace Skateboards was founded in 2009 in London by Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis, alongside Marshall Taylor. The name comes from the run-down London flat where Tanju and his skate crew lived, which they jokingly nicknamed their "palace." That crew, the Palace Wayward Boys Choir (PWBC), formed the foundation of the brand: starting with T-shirts and board graphics for friends, before growing into a fully-fledged brand with its now-iconic triangular Tri-Ferg logo, designed by Fergus Purcell. Palace stayed deeply rooted in London's Southbank skate scene while growing into an internationally respected streetwear brand, with stores in London, New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, and collaborations with the likes of Adidas, Reebok, and Ralph Lauren.
The team carries that same London identity. From original members like Lucien Clarke, Olly Todd, and Charlie Young to later riders such as Chewy Cannon, Benny Fairfax, and Blondey McCoy: Palace's skate videos, like Palasonic (2017), show a brand that, despite all its fashion success, has never let go of its skate roots.
Decks
Please note: at Skatestore we only carry Palace Skateboards decks, not the brand's clothing or accessories.
Palace decks are generally standard popsicle shapes with a medium concave, a slightly wider and more squared-off nose and tail, and a mellow kick: comfortable underfoot without being too aggressive. Made from 7-ply maple, each one carrying the ever-changing, instantly recognizable graphics Palace is known for.
