Privacy-sensitive data, or personal data, are processed through our online store. Skatestore BV considers careful handling of personal data of great importance. Personal data is therefore carefully processed and secured by us.
In our processing we comply with the requirements set by privacy legislation. That means, among other things, that:

  2. we limit our collection of personal data to only the personal data necessary for legitimate purposes;

Skatestore BV is responsible for data processing. In this privacy statement we explain which personal data we collect and use and for what purpose. We advise you to read this carefully.

Use of personal data
When using our webshop, we obtain certain information from you. That may be personal data. We only keep and use the personal data provided directly by you, within the framework of the service you request, or of which it is clear upon submission that they are provided to us for processing.
We use the following data for the purposes mentioned in this privacy statement:

  3. Billing address
  4. E-mail address
  5. Payment details
  6. Order history

Handling your orders
When you place an order with us, we use your personal data for the processing thereof. If necessary for proper processing, we can also provide your personal data to third parties. You can read more about this later in this privacy statement.

Newsletter
We offer a newsletter with which we want to inform interested parties about our products and/or services. Each newsletter contains a link with which you can unsubscribe. Your e-mail address will only be added to the list of subscribers with your explicit consent.

Direct marketing based on previous purchases (soft opt-in)
Based on your previous purchases with us, we may inform you by e-mail about similar products, offers and promotions. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest as referred to in Article 11.7(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act. Contact form
We offer via our webshop the possibility to ask questions by means of a contact form, where you are asked to fill in various details to deal with your question. You choose which information you provide. The data you send us will be kept for as long as the nature of the form or the content of your e-mail requires for the complete answering and processing thereof.

Provision to third parties
We can pass on your details to our partners. These partners are involved in the implementation of the agreement. We have a data processing agreement in place with all parties that process personal data on our behalf.

Mailchimp
We use Mailchimp for sending newsletters and marketing e-mails. Your e-mail address and relevant customer data are shared with Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC) for this purpose. Google Analytics and Google Ads
We use Google Analytics to keep track of how visitors use our web store. We have signed a data processing agreement with Google to make arrangements about the handling of our data. Furthermore, we have not allowed Google to use the obtained Analytics information for other Google services, and we anonymize IP addresses.
In addition, we use Google Ads to display advertisements. Conversion data is shared with Google to measure the effectiveness of our advertisements.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
We use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to analyze the behavior of visitors on our website and to optimize advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. This may involve sharing data such as your e-mail address (hashed) and browsing behavior with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. More information can be found in Meta's privacy policy.

Cookies
Cookies are used on our webshop. Cookies are also placed via third parties that are enabled by us.
When you first visit our online store, a notice is displayed explaining why we use cookies. You are free to disable cookies through your browser. Keep in mind that it is possible that our website will no longer work optimally.

Security
We take security measures to limit abuse of and unauthorized access to personal data. In particular, we use secure connections (SSL/TLS) that protect all information between you and our website when you enter personal data.

Retention periods
The personal data described above are retained for as long as necessary to process your orders, including warranty. We then store data for a maximum of one year for statistical purposes. The data will then be erased unless there is a statutory obligation that requires longer storage (such as the seven-year fiscal retention obligation for payment data).
