Real Skateboards – Keeping it Real
Real Skateboards is the oldest brand in the DLXSF family, which also includes Anti Hero, Krooked, Venture, Thunder and Spitfire. The company was founded in the early ’90s by Jim Thiebaud (formerly of Powell Peralta) and Tommy Guerrero, with encouragement from Fausto Vitello—legendary founder of Thrasher and Independent Trucks. Like Anti Hero and Krooked, some Real decks are manufactured at the well-respected BBS woodshop in Mexico.
Real's graphics are instantly recognizable. The Team Classic Oval series can be spotted in nearly every skate shop and park, while the Cathedral series features artwork striking enough to hang on a wall—but built to be skated.
What truly sets Real decks apart is the depth and diversity of their popsicle offerings. While many brands stick to one or two standard shapes, Real offers a wide range designed to fit different riding styles and preferences.
- Full SE stands for "Square Edge": a fuller, squarer shape with more surface area, offering greater board feel and control.
- DLX True Fit Mold is designed with the idea that one size doesn’t fit all. It’s slightly shorter than standard decks, with the same width—ideal for a more controlled, responsive ride.
- Easy Rider features a relaxed concave, designed for full board contact, quick pop, and a smooth, comfortable ride.
- Twin Tail is Ishod Wair’s now-famous fully symmetrical shape. With identical nose and tail, it’s made to be skated in either direction—just throw it down and go.
- Twin Nose is the newest symmetrical shape, developed by Nicole Hause. Like the Twin Tail, it’s designed for skating both ways, with no need to think about which way your board is facing.
With deep roots, consistent quality, iconic graphics, and one of the strongest teams in the game, Real Skateboards continues to set the standard for what a modern skate brand can be.
