Nike SB
Nike SB at Skatestore
One of the most influential brands in skateboarding, Nike SB completely changed the skate shoe game when they entered the market. Many were skeptical at first (due to the fact that most skate brands are skater-owned) but Nike SB quickly gained the acceptance of the community with technologically advanced shoes in high quality that perform on and off the board.
Nike SB, or Nike Skateboarding, is a line of shoes and gear specifically designed for skaters. Launched in 2002, Nike SB brings together Nike's sportswear innovation and the actual needs of skateboarders. Nike SB is better known for its Dunk and Blazer models, which have become icons in both skateboarding and streetwear culture.
Iconic Nike SB models
Nike SB has no shortage of iconic models, including but definitely not limited to:
- Nike SB Dunk: The Nike Dunk debuted in 1985–86 as a basketball shoe, but quickly became popular with skateboarders thanks to its flat soles and grip. Decades later, the Dunk remains an iconic, everyday sneaker available in countless colors and collabs.
- Nike SB Blazer: The Blazer is an iconic basketball shoe that has been adapted to the demands of the modern skateboarder. Sturdy leather is combined with non-slip rubber for flexible grip and long-lasting comfort.
- Nike SB Stefan Janoski: After a year of research and redesign, the Janoski+ continues the development of Stefan's signature skate line. The special grip for skaters offers great board feel and control. A redesigned upper provides a better fit and comfort for optimal performance.
- Nike SB Air Max Ishod: The Air Max Ishod features details inspired by iconic 90s basketball shoes and offers the durability you need for intense skating. This creative take on the original Ishod design features updated mesh, visible Nike Air cushioning, and a molded sole that's easy to break in.
- Nike Everyday Cush Crew Socks: Built for comfort and durability, cushioning right where skaters need it. Whether it's an all-day skate or just chillin', these are the go-to socks you'll find in every skateboarder's drawer.
- Nike RPM Backpack: A real skate staple, the RPM backpack mixes rugged construction with smart compartment layout, a laptop sleeve, a number of pockets, ergonomic straps, and options for skate-strap setups. Ideal for sessions, school, and traveling.
Legendary Collaborations
Nike SB has collaborated with some of the most recognizable names in skateboarding, streetwear, and sneaker culture:
- Nike SB x Jordan 4: The Nike SB x AJ4 celebrates the collaboration between Sandy Bodecker and Tinker Hatfield, blending iconic Jordan 4 design with skate-ready features. It retains the classic '89 shape, offers a flexible deconstructed upper, Nike Air cushioning, and a grippy gum rubber outsole for skate performance. The shoe combines heritage AJ4 color-blocking with modern accents, merging style, comfort, and function.
- Nike SB x Air Max 95: The Nike SB Air Max 95 reimagines the ‘90s running icon for skateboarding, keeping its signature skeletal design and neon accents while adding skate-friendly features. Suede and leather replace the original synthetics, layers are lightened for flexibility, and the insole and herringbone outsole improve boardfeel and traction. Nike SB branding completes the look.
- Artist & Skate Collabs: from Supreme to local skate legends, Nike SB collaborations create unique and limited-edition releases that you cannot resist. Few examples are Travis Scott, Ben & Jerry's to skate brands like Anti Hero, or pro colorways from the likes of Rayssa Leal and Yuto Horigome.
