Krooked Skateboards – The Brand With Two Eyes
Krooked Skateboards was founded in 2002 by none other than Mark “Gonz” Gonzales – the godfather of modern street skateboarding. Since then, Krooked has become a staple within the DLXSF family, alongside brands like Anti Hero, Real, Spitfire, Thunder, and Venture. The boards are produced, among other places, by BBS in Mexico.
Where Real is raw and Anti Hero uncompromising, Krooked is the playful little brother – goofy, a bit absurd, and always with a wink. But don’t be fooled – behind the cheerful visuals lies a deep appreciation for skateboarding as an art form. The hand-drawn graphics by The Gonz are legendary: from the iconic ‘Eyes’ graphic to the mysterious Shmoo, the Krooked universe is as quirky as it is recognizable – whether on deck graphics, beanies, hoodies, t-shirts, or more.
Krooked has something for everyone: from classic popsicle decks to unique shapes. Think of the Zip Zagger (the ultimate sidewalk surf machine), Ray Barbee’s street shape, various egg shapes, and the Manderson shape – a favorite of skater/reviewer Ben Degros.
Mark Gonzales still leads the brand, surrounded by a team just as distinctive as Krooked itself: OG Ray Barbee, Bobby Worrest, Mike Anderson (Manderson), Brad Cromer, Ronnie Sandoval, Tom Knox, Craig Cromer – and with Andrew Wilson and Una Farrar on board, the future of Krooked looks bright, stylish, and full of character.
In short, Krooked Skateboards stands out in the skateboarding world with its playful and artistic approach, while staying true to the core of skateboarding. The brand remains recognizable through its hand-drawn style and unique designs. Whether you go for a classic deck or one of the more unusual shapes, Krooked is the brand for those who like to skate a little differently – with humor, style, and character.
