Anti Hero
Anti Hero Skateboards – Core skateboarding at its finest
Anti Hero Skateboards has been a staple in the skate scene since 1995. Founded by Julien Stranger and part of Deluxe Distribution (DLXSF) – the same distro behind brands like Spitfire Wheels, Krooked Skateboards, Real Skateboads, Venture Trucks, and Thunder Trucks – Anti Hero is known for its uncompromising approach, raw aesthetic, and graphic work that never sugarcoats or romanticizes anything.
The graphics, often created by Todd Francis, are full of cynicism, social commentary, and absurd humor – frequently featuring his signature pigeons. Still, the most iconic image in the lineup is probably the classic eagle graphic, which has appeared on team decks for years. These standard Anti Hero decks are the brand’s backbone – dependable in shape, construction, and style.
When it comes to shapes, Anti Hero offers more than just the classic popsicle decks. They also make shaped boards like the Huffer, the Horse Pill, and many more. The Huffer is a '90s football shape designed by John Cardiel. Fun fact: Ishod Wair learned to skate transition on the Huffer. The Horse Pill is a 10-inch popsicle shape created by Tony Trujillo, built with the length and wheelbase of a standard DLX 8.5 deck – making it surprisingly smooth to ride despite its size.
The boards are, among others, produced by BBS in Mexico – one of the most trusted woodshops in the skateboard industry.
The Anti Hero team speaks for itself. From legends like John Cardiel, Grant Taylor, Tony Trujillo, Peter Hewitt, Frank Gerwer to newer generations like Cody Chapman, Doobie, Nick Mathews and our very own Daan van der Linden. Jeff Grosso (forever) – a walking skateboard archive and a true voice of integrity – was a longtime face of Anti Hero.
Anti Hero doesn’t compromise, and that’s exactly why it’s stayed relevant for so long. No sales talk, no image management – just solid boards, killer graphics, and a mindset that stays true to skateboarding in its purest form.
